I am in love with the new toys in 2010- Phones, E-Readers and Cameras!

Happy New Year Lovelies!!!

If you made it over to this side with me I am so happy you are hear to join me. I want to thank all my subscirbers and readers, you make this blogging thing worthwhile and starting in Frebruary I will be bringing y'all vlogs!!!!

So my New Year has me excited for so many reasons including new tech gadgets that the has oil flowing fast and furious in my cyborg body, and I shared a few below. Enjoy :)

PHONES:
First things first- I just heard that Telus will be introducing the Motorola DROID series of phones in 2010 (6mths behind Rogers and Bell as usual!) and I want one HARD.  Why?
Cause this phone is AMAAAAAAAAAZING!!!!!

Below is the Motorola Milestone- isnt it gorgeous!!!!

Photos are sharper. Videos pop. It has the most advanced Google browser and the very latest software with a large processor and 3G speed for faster search. It has a 5MP camera with a flash and a DVD-quality recorder, so you can share them with ease.

It’s the smartphone without limits.

AND THAT ISNT EVEN THE HALF OF IT, RIM IS TRYING TO COME UP WITH WORTHY COMPETITION IN THE BLACKBERRY STORM 3 WHICH I FEEL IS GONNA CRASH AND BURN IN THE SAME SLEW AS THE ITS PREDECESSORS THE STORM (BLACKBERRY 9530)AND THE BLACKBERRY 9550.

If anyone loves me- feel free to get me a brand newAndroid for Valentine's Day!

E-READERS
Moving on I am also a huge book worm so I am dying for my own kind of e-reader and there are so many on the market, Sony's E-Reader is mighty impressive, then again so is the Barnes & Noble Nook. Its your own personal digital reader and for someone like me who is constantly on the go and does not have the time and patience to be lugging around books while traveling, one of these bad boys would be awesome.

I am personally leaning towards the Barnes &Noble Nook just because in comparison test it is a front runner despite the fact the Barnes& Noble is still having issues allowing Nook owners to purchase and download book mobiley  but if you are near a PC or laptop your credit card will work just fine on any e-book site, including Amazon.

So Sony offers the E-reader in two sizes, the Standard PRS600R ringing in @ the steep price of  $349.99 or if you want something a lil more compact in the Pocket Reader PRS300R @ the more affordable  prices of $239.99. *prices are all before taxes*

Personally I am in love with the Barnes and Noble NOOK which supports more text formats as well as multiple audio formats so I can read and listen to music- that is beyond orgasmic for a techie nerd like me.

CAMERAS:

My mommy who is my own personal rockstar got me a great digital camera that I love for Christmas, and then I stumbled on the following while online and I am in love!

See below the gorgeous and multi-talented iQRIO's CamP3 Swivel Camera:

This iQRIO CamP3 offers video/music playback and a video recorder in addition to normal camera functions. Plus, it includes an SD card slot for memory expansion (2GB max.).

Isnt it just gorgeous???

Anyway these bad boys have me in love with tech developments in 2010 and I just wanted to share.

Enjoy!
MOCHA KISSES LOVELIES!!!!!

Overwhelming Doomsday Obsession!

Is it me or does it seem that the obsession with the end of humanity is just @ an all time high? I live on Apple.com/trailers because I have an overactive imagination and I want to see what great movies are coming out. (Anything but horror flicks) Anyway, for the last several months its seems that the obsession with humanity's end has reached a new high in terms of movie production. Everything from the Tim Burton animated feature length "9", to the upcoming "Legion", "2012", Denzel Washington's "Book of Eli' and more, it seems like Hollywood is in on some big secret that the Mayans left behind in reference to the Winter Solstice of 2012.

Either way, Hollywood's newest obsession is far better than the current Vampire obsession which is just getting old mighty fast. So I strongly encourage you to read between the lines. Maybe just for one Hollywood is trying to provide more than just entertainment.

Raptors VS Caveliers- Pleasantly Surprised

For those who dont know I am a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE sports fan and I specifically have a serious jonesing for basketball. So I am beyond excited that the season has started again. Tonight was the Raptors season opener hosting the formidable Caveliers with an all star line-up that includes the almost champion Lebron James, Anthony Parker and Big Man Shaq(no last name needed).

But when push came to shove the Raptors made quite an impression on their beleaguered fans by dominating the game from start to finish, including an impressive 20point lead going into the third quarter even though it disappeared in less than 2minutes. Ending the game with the 10pt lead (101-91), this will definitely serve as notice to other teams that coach Jay Triano is creating a team mentality that ensures that the Raptors are in it for the long haul. Lets see how the season shapes up.

Congrats Raptors, better luck next time to the Cavs

Georgia RayNe: Homie, Lover, Friends!

So I was just having a conversation with my homeboy about the emotionality of physical intimacy. And I was reminded just how much men and women just don't see the world the same way. Now we are all grown folks and I will keep the posting PG-13 but to give you a lil back story.

Homie(that is what we will call him for the sake of identification), homie and his Friend (that is what we will call her) have known each other for aproximately a year and a half, maybe more. And they were tighter than a new weave, (cue the violins lol), nah but seriously, they have been tight for a caliente (hot) minute.

Anyway until recently their friendship was strictly platonic until approximately a likkle while ago when they made out and canoodled (yes there were shenanigans, but that is as far as it went!). They didn't do the horizontal mambo and that may have just been the best thing that happened- for a lot of reasons:

A. He just came out of a pretty deep relationship, he was engaged.
B.Neither Homie nor Friend are in the right emotional mindset to deal with intense emotions.
C. It just didn't pop off.

Anyway, when Homie went to address the canoodling Friend got upset because like a man he simply told her the truth and told her that when the shenanigans had gone down he had just been, and I quote, "trying a ting." Ladies now I know you all just got ready for war- relax, and fellas save the round of applause for the Apollo, there is more.

She got a likkle wound up, cause naturally what female wants to feel like a potential jump off when they see themselves as wifey material. Anyway it appears the convo got real awkward real fast and then came to an abrupt and uncomfortable end.

Now it seems cut and dried right?- dude was just trying to have some fun and homegirl is just too hypersensitive, right???? WRONG. See homie really likes Friend but didn't want it to be a jumpoff thing so he played it off cause:

A. Its what men do when they are emotionally vulnerable
B. Home girl is more complicated than space rocket semantics
C.He's a man and he was just being a man.

But the point of this long winded short story- yeah I know I ramble on- is that men and women need to go into situations with their eyes open especially when it comes to the opposite sex.

Men keep it simple- if its just a ting well that is all it is- just getting in where they FIT in if you get my meaning.

Women on the other hand well....as I told homie- PHYSICAL INTIMACY ALWAYS ALWAYS INVOLVES EMOTIONAL VULNERABILITY, no matter how cold-hearted the girl may claim to be or act like she is we are all just mars bars, hard outside all mushy and goey on the inside lol.

So avoid eyes wide shut syndrome ladies- if the man cannot commit to a favourite color, job, basketball team, then he cant commit to you. Fellas, stop tryna blow smoke about the ass- if its just sex, then tell us its just sex, and if you arent ready for love like an India.Arie song then its cool let us know, give us the opportunity to either let you in, or kick you to the curb. At least as adults you both know what you want and whether or not you are gonna both get what you need.

Keep it Kosher!!!

Georgia RayNe: One of My Favourite Canadian Designers- Elliptic Clothing

I love clothing, call me a clothes whore on a budget or as a friend so aptly titled me a Recessionista. I love great bargains, great deals and the word clearance makes me a happy shopper. I also love creative designers and clothing that obviously had some thought put into it- that I am willing to pay more for.

One of my super fave designers that I have been following and supporting for the longest time is the creative team behind Elliptic Clothing. I love Jon Todd and Kestin Cornwall's work, and I have so much respect for the brand they have built and the artistic thought process that goes into creating each and everyone of their limited edition collections.

Below are just some samples of their work, to get more and to purchase some of this amazing art to wear check out their website WWW.ELLIPTICCLOTHING.COM and get familiar!!!

Its all Love.

Georgia RayNe: Saukrates- Ms. Yesterday

I Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wardrobe styling, video concept, production and Big Sox is looking mighty good- I am just saying lol. Enjoy

Georgia RayNe: The Mentality of Relationships

A friend of mine accused me of being a cyborg, because I just dont seem to emotionally react to relationships the way a lot of my female friends do. Let's not get it twisted, when I love I love hard, and when I am not in love well....I am just hard lol.

Realistically though I just never seem to look at relationships with men with the same set of rose colored ideals that a lot of my female friends do. Case in point, first impressions. Gentlemen I am going to let you in on a little secret about women- we make EVERYTHING complicated, even something as simple as "Hello".

When a man sees a beautiful women in a bar, office, club, gym, whereever, his first instinct is divide and conquer. He is attracted to her physical appearance and honestly he just wants to get in where he can FIT in.

The reverse is not so simple for a woman. When a woman is approached by a man, she has already sized him up, deciphered by his build if he works out (a good thing, it means he takes care of himself), if he is well dressed (another check- this indicates he has good taste and is financially stable) if he looks good and is well gromed- white teeth, neat hair, clipped nails etc (yup- the kids will definitely be cute).

Now if a man passes on all these cylinders then a woman's reponse to his "hello" will help her determine if he is a good provider (did he offer to purchase a drink- somehow translates into he is generous), good in bed (the way a man walks, his rhythm his carriage etc says a lot about how he will man-handle a woman behind closed doors). Fellas as you can tell @ this point, a simple introduction has reached Freudian proportions and the very future of humanity now lies in your hands.

Basically by the time you walk a away a woman has mentally had sex with you, met your family and friends, planned and had the wedding and named the kids and decided if you will have a son or a daughter first- yup hello can be that intense!

The point of this little breakdown into woman's psyche is this- I keep on seeing girlfriends, heartbroken, confused and disappointed about the relationships their in, while men are thoroughly confused about when it got so complicated when they were just kicking it.

Ladies and Gents, life is far less complicated but deeper than we allow it to be.

Ladies- getting to know someone is not rocket science, so stop trying to decipher conversations and actions as if your are working on particle physics, take each thing for what it is and accept it.

Fellas- we know we arent easy to figure out or live with, but that is what makes so damn interesting, just keep it 100 with us and life will be a lot easier.

Try it out and see if I am wrong :).

Have a good day y'all

Georgia RayNe: The results of Bitter Bitch Syndrome

So ladies, if you are one of the unlucky majority you have been done wrong, by some man or woman (whatever floats your boat). You then in most cases happen to fall into what I like to call Bitter bitch Syndrome- dont act like you dont know- you know exactly what I mean, you go from having daisies in your hair to calling yourself a concrete and commmonly spouting phrases like "Men aint shit!", "I can do bad all by myself", "If it aint about making money or taking his money I aint trying to hear it"

So I found y'all another bad girl sensation to help you put a soundtrack to your "Hell hath no fury" phrase. Introducing RiRi number 2, Brit Bajan singer Livvi Franc. I cant lie I kinda like the spiky glasses and the latex band dance choreography. Let me know what y'all think. Enjoy!!!

Georgia RayNe: Iron Man 2 Video Game by Cap Con

I am a huge comic book fan- Transformers, XMen, Ultimate Avengers, Iron Man etc. So I almost lost my mind when I stumbled onto the trailer for the new Iron Man 2 Game for PS3- anyone wanna play????

Georgia RayNe: Def Jam Poetry Addiction

I am in LOOOOOOOVE with spoken word (some call it poetry) and I have to share my verbal crack with y'all.

Georgia RayNe: Remember When.....

Remember when download was something only nerds did, and the original mix tape was a collection of your favourite songs, recorded when your favourite DJ spun on the radio. You would sit and wait while he/she talked about the hottest single or hottest rapper and pray that he/she would let the song play from beginning to end without interruption. You would sit there hands poised with two fingers on the PLAY and RECORD button and the other on the PAUSE, tape queued for that summer banger to come on, and the minute you knew the DJ was gonna shut the hell up for 3minutes and 35secs you moved with the dexterity of a concert pianist to capture the soundtrack to your summer.
If you could take it back to those summer days, when Salt N' Pepper were still banging out the asymmetrical cuts and the Lycra unitards and were telling you to push it, Tupac and Omar Epps had "Juice", and Micheal Jackson was a "Smooth Criminal" what would your soundtrack be?
